I bought a '76 L-48 coupe last fall. A decent original car. Plan was to to fix any problems, and have a nice driver. Ha! I have fixed power windows, tach, speedo, lights, horn, seats, console, carpet, seatbelts, vacuum lines, headlight doors so far. Checked rear suspension, only 1 leaky caliper. (thank God). Looking at the front end, there were a couple minor oil leaks (valve cover, intake) which sprayed oil all over front suspension, engine, and steering. Now I'm thinking of pulling the front-end suspension parts, painting and rebuilding everything. Also pull the engine, replace clutch and paint everything. Might need a new carb. After all this the paint isn't looking as good as the rest of the car. Aw hell, might as well do a frame off! I can't stop! I'm using my 401-k to pay the monthly bills. When does it stop?

Had a boat, lost interest and sold it. Now I got 2 Vettes, they are very simular, except a boat is no fun in winter. Down South where I live I get a warm day every now and then to ride in the Vettes. They are also a lot easier to launch and put up!
your getting there man, i've done same, go ahead and change your bushings on front and check ball joints, i went poly and have since heard pros and cons of poly vs rubber. too new to comment. polys are easier to install i'm sure, they're stiffer. Drop a ZZ4 in it with a cam upgrade while u have the motor out. sweet motor. Pull your carpet and insulate floorboard too....

That was my plan also. I started out with a decent driver with a few problems that needed attention. I fixed those easily enough. The next thing I wanted to do was attack the front suspension to make it handle better. Well, that was about 5 years ago. I am close to being done but, now I am wanting to install an LS1 motor and make it even better for me.
From: the land of a never ending frame-off resto-mod. May Visa have mercy on my soul.
The pain, The agony, The admiration. It becomes a bottomless pit of pride and money. But you will embrace it like a religion and pay homage everytime you look at it.
It's kinda like a woman.... lot's of money and hope you get a little fun out of her. BWAAHHAAAAA
I own 3 C3's, and each one has a TO DO list longer than anything I have to do at work, or at home. It seems like I cant get to the end of any of them.
I finally had to put myself on a Corvette budget. That is, I cannot order any thing else for them until I finish putting on the parts that I have already bought, and put in the garage.
Stop? It can stop? No one told me it can stop? Where did you hear this stop? I want to know more about stop................................can' t understand....................stop...... ...........
