I'm seriously thinking about putting a 1975 - 1977 rear coupe deck on my 1981...
Will the deck physically fit and line up with the other rear panels?
Is the gas tank just in the incorrect location, or is it also too tall?
If the tank is too tall, can I lower it by modifying the support cross-member, or do I have to swap it out as well?
Because I like the front end and interior of the 81, and the straight window rear deck of the late seventies.
I was really impressed with the work you did on your 81 vert. I was going to go that route but the laundry list of modifications was just to long to deal with. Plus, truth be told, I wasn't really looking forward to giving up my mirrored T-tops.
I've already had corvette salvage yards telling me that I'm making a mistake, but I'm not going for a restoration (I've already removed the smog equipment and modified the intake and the exhaust).
Like my brother-in-law once told me "This is the largest model car I've ever seen."
