Windshield Frame Rot
Hi -
New to this forum, My 1980 L82 has rot in the WS and down the sides. It's a mess, I love the car, how can I fix this problem? Is this now a parts car, I hope not. Is there something to stop the rust and make it look neat and clean. I'm not restoring the car just trying to maintain it, it's in good shape not a show car. I just keep up with all of the repairs that might occur.

Welcome to the forum! The fix is not an easy one no mater what the level of rust you have. I am currently doing the same fixes on my 81. Do a search on my name and you will find a lot of pics I have posted on the subject. Do you have any pics of your problem areas?
There are several companies that make replacement parts (most of them anyway) you can get both sides, top frame and upper corners no problem and do it all yourself for under $1k. No one has the Lower corners as yet that I have found. Caladonia has tooling in developement and told me they would be in production this spring.
Do the search and get some info, them get back with me and I'll see if I can help

How far down the sides? Can you post some pics.
Not really a pleasant job and it must be replaced correctly to get the glass in and everything to line up. Needs some pics though to help determine how bad it is.
