Default Ordered a Astrotop

I ordered a Astrotop on 2/1/07, they said it will ship in 10 working days. Called them last wed to see how it was going and they said it would ship 2/16/07. Called yesterday to see how it was going and they said it hadn't shipped yet. I guess these are "made to order".....I don't understand why a company that's been in business for 30 years just don't stock these.

I've heard "horror" stories but I figure I would give them a chance, but so far the delay hasn't impressed me a bit. Oh well, they won't charge my card until it ships.

anyone else experience long shipping waits?

End of mild rant

what does that have to do with the Astro Top?

The Astro Tops are listed on Ebay so its hard to believe they don't have several of them laying around.

I was asking in general if anyone has experience long waits for stuff, but mine Astrotop specific.

Thats what I couldn't figure out is why when you purchase from them you have to "wait" for the product....especially for a company that's been around for 30 years.

I gurantee if they waited almost 3 weeks to ship something with a Ebay customer, they would never be able to recoup from all the negative feedback.

It's no big deal, just get aggravated at people that promise ship dates and don't commit to them.....if she said it would be four weeks I wouldn't be calling them until next week to follow up.

Supply and demand.
At the least, they're talking to you when you call them.

Still waiting on a shipping quote to Canada for $1700 worth of stuff... Can't imagine how long the shipping time will be.

Let us know your impression of the astro-top.

I know they were away at a show in Houston for a couple of days so that could be part of the delay. They were right next to me at that show.

I had the same kind of luck as well. My Astro Top came with a scratch on it and fit very poorly, sticking out on the sides. I sent it back for a refund, though I had to pay the shipping charge for sending it back.
I wish it had looked as good as rosslato's car.

If mine comes with a scratch and fits poorly they WILL pay shipping back to them and give me a 100% refund where I'm not out any money....I paid with my CC and have no problem with a chargeback.

...if they would have designed it with GM latches and the GM t-top frames and weatherstripping instead of that freakin' goofy mickey mouse bolt-screwed-into-plexiglass-glued-to-plexiglass-engineering/stupid idea of theirs, it might be something. That silly, stupid "flap" that serves as the side window "up" weatherstripping leaving a 3/4in gap is STUPID. I asked one of the f'tards there, "WTF am I supposed to do, remove my door panels and re-adjust my side windows everytime I drive my car or pray I don't get caught in the rain???"

ps: top may have made it to Lake Erie by now...

Yeah. A great idea with a crappy design.
