I live in Cumming (north Atlanta) and am looking for a good vette tune-up mechanic. I have a '72, dual pump holley, high rise manifold, headers, and an upgraded HEI distributor. Car runs good, but I don't like the carb as I'm not sure how to fine tune it. Any names?
Jim, there is nothing really tough about a tune-up on your car. Changing plugs, fuel filter, new disty cap & rotor- all parts changes.
As far as tuning the carb, there are literally hundreds of books. Summit in Mcdonough has 6 or 7 on the shelf. There are only 5 adjustments- float levels (2), idle mixture (2), and idle speed. There are some good carb guys on the forum that have tech help guides available.
Not trying to talk you out of finding someone at all, but trying to help you save some $$$.
