Yes, you will be very surprised that some of the Vette specific parts are actually used on other models, and are half the price. My neighbor uses one all the time to find cheap parts for his '75.
My salvage business uses Hollander (now actually branded Audatex and owned by Solera). I wouldnt know how to live without their interchange system. I have never reviewed their Corvette-specific book, but their complete automotive interchange product is our industry standard. It tends to be conservative - very few false positives but it does miss some crossovers. I have dozens of older Hollander books (before we went digital) and have always been happy.
I dont know if the interchange manual shows it, but the temp control panel on my old 1979 is the same exact panel that came in early 80s Chevettes. GM gets a LOT less for the Chevette part # than they do the Corvette part #!!!

Yep, that's the point. Obviously there ARE a lot of Corvette specific parts out there, but there are also some parts that were used for different years or models. Those parts can save you a bundle if done right and over time it'll pay for that book easy.
