bad firewall

Default bad firewall

also my firewall is rotted and it needs replacing as well as the pilars on each side of the car that support my windshield and roof. what should i look out for and how should i go about doing this??

any advice is greatly appreciated...

Define "rotted"? Fiberglass doesn't rot. Got a good Corvette salvage yard in your area?

rotted where the pilars are bonded to the firewall (just under dash)

you talkin about the windshield frame corners, #2 mount pockets and the like? or more than that?

thats a pretty big job. you'll have to remove the doors ,front clip, etc to get at that stuff.

You may be able to fix it, I have the same problem on mine and am in the process of repairs. Fabbing a repair section for the #2 mount is not too difficult,, basically a rectangular piect of sheet metal with tabs on all 4 sides. The upper, sides and upper corners for the WS frame are redily available on line. Caladonia, zip, several others have them. I used repair sections for the rocker channels from Caladonis for the rocker chanel repairs. Takes some work, but it can be done. In the process I am re learinig to weld.
