1979 vette
Hello, im new here aka a noob.
i have an opportunity to buy the last 1979 production model of the vette for $3,000.00.
automatic, black, body kit, new trans (auto)
only downfall is that the engine knocks.
do you think i should buy it?

I would at a minimum determine if you thought it was worth it assuming you had to put a new engine in it right away. 3k might not be a bad deal if the rest of the car is in excellent condition. Be sure to check for frame rust where it kicks up in front of the rear tires. Also take the kick panels off inside the car and look for rust on the metal birdcage. If either of those is bad, I'd pass on the car.
