I had a set on a smallblock Vette in the early 90s...they were a good fitting quality header with what I thought was a very durable coating, never any rust issues. They were also one of the lowest priced headers on the market.

That's what I was hoping.
Thanks!

Anyone else?

Ditto on that. Got mine Jet-Hot coated & they're still in excellent condition & for sale if you're interested. Had to get different headers because of engine change with different exhaust port location.

I've still got a set of those. Bought them around 1984. I was going to replace them but I found that Hookers won't fit with my angle plug heads. The old Blackjacks fit like a glove! They don't look so good anymore - the aluminum coating is discolored. But there is no rust at all. I was thinking I might send them out to Jet Hot and get them ceramic coated.

There is one issue with them though. They have a 4 bolt flange on the collector which doesn't seem to exist anymore. You would have to do some fabricating to hook up an exhaust. Either make a 4 bolt flange for the tailpipe side or cut the collector off the header and weld a new one on.

Blackjacks on MY 79 L82. Put these on 22 years ago, still in great shape(very low mileage, tho). Excellent fit and makes spark plug changing a 15 minute job!

That sounds strange. Mine are 3 bolt. Got them 1989, I think.

I also bought a set back around 1983-84? About $90 then. stored them until 4 years ago and installed them. They fit great and only show rust where I nicked the coating off. Installed them on my 72 last summer and broke in a cam, so they were glowing orange for a while. Still have them on the car. Fit both 4 spd and auto no problems, too bad they are not still around.

I also have a set but I'm curious what did it cost to get yours jet hot coated and where?

Got my blackjack alumnakote headers with anti reversionary cones in the mid 80s, and they are still going strong. I plan to have them jet-hot coated soon. These headers give the most undercar clearance, and they work fine with my angle plug AFRs.

Got them coated at Jet-Hot. It was several years ago. I believe it was about $220, but not positive.

Thanks for the reply. Ouch, I didn't realise it was that expensive, where is Jet Coat located?
