So the door inserts and some of the center console pieces have been drying for two days so I installed them tonight. I am still working on the pieces to surround the stereo as I had to recut them to a tighter tolerance around the radio face. I have another 3-4 days of work on them (I have 1-2 coats of the initial laquer and then 2-3 of the marine version and each coat drys for 24 hours).
When you 1st started the project, I thought "tacky". Holy cr*p, those are beautiful! Talk about Master Craftsmanship, by far the best inserts I have ever seen!!!

Far from master craftsmanship...In fact, Ia m tempted to redo some pieces again.
Shane, I missed this thread when it started but looked at it today and all I can say is WOW That looks really good. Ever do those inserts for a Mustang?
very nice work. I,too, missed the front part of this posting. Its of high interest to me,,as you can see,I am a woodworker also..I built my tool box. Question, what kind of wood is that on the drivers side insert? very nice figure/wood grain in that piece.
Richard & Ghost Rider....Just follow the link at the top to part II and part II has a link to part I. I will be posting a part IV sometime in the next week. Just finishing the final pieces (assuming they look good they will be finals, that is).
Shane
WOW...absolutely georgous.
I have the same steering wheel and was looking to do the same inserts.
Very nice, i will be tackling this down the road...along with every other hope and dream.
