My car should be arriving by the end of the week. I have a list of common sense things to check/change before I register it. Car in question is a 1970 350/350 'vert 4sp. w/air.
So far I'm going to....
1. change all fluids
2. thoroughly go through the brake system
3. change all belts and hoses
4. ????
Are there any C3 specific things I should check/change? The thread in general about the dash fire has me wondering about headlight switches etc.....
Personally, I would have a look at the fuse panel just to make sure Bubba hasn't been there before you and put a .22 bullet or a nail in one of the fuse slots! Probably doesn't matter for your inspection but it might save something burning out or a dash fire.
If you're going for an inspection, check all your outside bulbs and your horn...
how thorough was your pre-purchase inspection? how is the general apperance of the car? check the frame and suspension parts for dangerously weak points, flush the radiator and check the thermostat, test the parking brake and calipers and discs for stuck (binding and no contact) parts.check the fuse panel for any by-passed (wire jumpers) circuits. battery and cables? the list goes on and on. good luck. i'm rebuilding a 70 vert also.
, check all the wiring, man. You never know what they've done to it. Mine was a wreck(still is besides the main harness) I still have the engine and light harnesses to change. Good luck and Congrats.

Man, there is a lot to look at. Doesn't really matter how thurogh it was checked before, its yours now so you need to know the good, the Bad and the Ugly. Your going to need to take some of it apart to find out status, kick panels and door panels for rust, Windshield header trim for rust, make sure the T-Tops don't leak, Kickups for rust. Check underhood electrics very closely for bubba mods, under dash too. Take lots of pics and stay in touch, we can help you get it worked out. Congrats and good luck
if the hoses and belts show no sign of wear, that is hoses are pliable, and no cracks in teh belts, why bother changing them? Pull the plugs and check the gaps, maybe replace the plugs, points, ignition wires.

Because I have no idea how old thay are and they're relatively in-expensive in comparison to other stuff.
