Is there such a thing as a 350 "truck block"? I know there is a 454 block for trucks, but not sure about the 350. I have the opportunity to purchase a 350 that was installed in a '79 Chevy van (not sure what the motor was in originally). The only identifying info I can see from the pics is the oil filter mounted on the driver's side.

some of the blocks for different applications like trucks have different metal contents in them....i think the best blocks have a higher percentage of nickel in them, which makes them stronger, i don't know how you can tell though
I just recently ran the numbers on my '74 engine block and it is a 350 LS9 4bolt truck engine, oil filter is on the drivers side but so is the dipstick. Have pics in my thread.
I have a 75 corvette 2 bolt main block. It has 010,and 020 stamped into the front timing cover area. What does this mean?
Back in 1968 when I was in the Army,I drove the M113 Armored Personel Carrier(APC ).They originally had a 283 truck motor.Worked pretty good. They really were underpowered for this beast though, and changed to a bigger diesel powerplant.
