My rear end has some grease coming down from the outside seal do you have to take the rear end out to fix this ?The car only has 42k miles should I take the whole thing out of the car & re build it ?

I assume you are refering to the differential. The differential cover is attached to a cross member. You really can't remove the bolts that hold the differential cover to the cross member, but you can remove both the cover and the cross member at the same time. The cross member is held up by the two bolts on either end. If you remove the bolts from the differential cover and then remove the bolts on the cross memeber you can take them out. Put a new gasket between the differential and the cover, refill it with oil and GM additive and you will be all set, as long as there aren't any other problems with the differential. Do a search and you will come up with all sorts of potential issues and "while I'm at its"

Good Luck!!!

Where is the grease coming from? The cover gasket? One of the side yoke seals? Or the Pinion seal?
