Even though I havent sold my car yet I've been looking around a locally there is an 81 vette that is cinabar outside and inside. I looked in the black book and see no mention of cinabar although I have seen it here on the forum in some members cars. I'm gonna ask the guy for the trim codes to confirm. Car is really in nice, dare I say mint condition. Its also alleged to be a Canada car as the speedo and mileage are in kilometers and seats are cloth not leather. Mileage shows 58ooo kilometers, he says 36ooo miles. Is cinabar an 81 color? What codes should it be? Might be a tough color to get used to but I bet its probably a rare one like the silver green.
Thx ESU
81 did have Cinnabar interior. Only year for it. On the window sticker it will say Dark Red and it may that this in the black book. I am not sure of the code. Actually with the car being rust color on the outside and Cinnabar on the inside it is a very nice combination.
The outside color has a lot of shine to it. The only time it looks rough is when the paint is dull.

Here is a pic of mine.
Yours was actually the car I was thinking of. If it says dark red where did the cinnabar name come from? I know your car is black now but what was the original color or was it black? I'd love to post a link to the car but I'm gonna be selfish on this one.

Maybe different but,, who knows???? I had a 1980 el Camino that was Cinnabar from the factory and it appeared to be orange to me, the interior was saddle tan, those pictures of a cinnabar interior look very nice, a much nicer interior color then a paint color for the exterior,,, yep I didnt like the cinnabar color on that el Camino,,,,,,,painted it black. Peace,,,Moosie
