Here is a pic where the motor number came from, Any ideas?
I was told it was a matching # car with a TH400, and a kick down cable.

You posted a vin and an engine stamp that are similar but not the same....should they be the same?........if so, you have fat fingers 
PS:CLA is the same for '77 but at 180hp, my original post came from a book that only goes to '74....sorry about that

You did ok with the way prices are today. $2900 for a running Corvette you can take home and drive is good.
1977 L48 coupe, built around Sept. 28, 1976, engine assembled 9/20/1976, 180 hp L48 with an automatic.
Could have had a clearer picture, though.
