You posted a vin and an engine stamp that are similar but not the same....should they be the same?........if so, you have fat fingers

PS:CLA is the same for '77 but at 180hp, my original post came from a book that only goes to '74....sorry about that

You did ok with the way prices are today. $2900 for a running Corvette you can take home and drive is good.

1977 L48 coupe, built around Sept. 28, 1976, engine assembled 9/20/1976, 180 hp L48 with an automatic.

Could have had a clearer picture, though.

0920 Date engine was assembled at Flint (September 20th). Time build date on your Corvette must be after 0920 since the engine was assembled at Flint then shipped to St. Louis before assembly of your Corvette was begun.

CLA Egnine suffix code for base L-48 180hp engine with AT.

17S4053846 VIN derivative. Check it again. It should match your VIN.
1 Corvette
7 Year of manufacture (1977)
S Plant code for St. Louis
4053848 consecutive unit number

1Z37L7S405846

1 Chevrolet
Z Corvette
37 coupe
L Engine code, base L-48
7 model year
S St. Louis plant code
4 car line series (4 for Corvette)
05846 consectuvie unit number (the 5846th '77 Corvette built)

4053846 405846 These two numbers should match since they represent the consecutive unit number. Check the VIN and the engine pad again.

If your car has the L-48 base engine, she should have a TH350 tranny.
