I've had the car on the road now for under a month and done the basics to it as far as maintenence goes. I bought it following a three year rebuild of the engine and interior from some guy. I'm not sure the car has been used of late as when I took off the rims there way hay under them and inside the engine bay was an old (but small) wasps nest.
I now know how the car reacts under different conditions and am getting used to it's foibles.
Ive ordered a new composite rear spring and will more than likely be replacing the shocks on it soon also.
With this in mind I think it's time this baby was put in the hands of a capable and exprienced corvette mechanic as the engine isn't stock who will tune the engine up properly, switch out the suspension and examine my her rear end to hopefully locate the source of an intermittent knock when pulling away after long drives.
So... I live in Burbank, LA. Anyone know of a good garage round here that will be safe to leave my pride and joy with?
Not quite LA, but these guys are the BEST for engine tech. PERIOD. Will run better than new. They are by no means cheap and they may not do the suspension and rear end.
Try Bob Jennings Dyno Tuning in North Hills. Corner of Sepulveda Blvd and Plummer St. Bob has been around for many (and I do mean many ) years and does a lot of work for Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc. He is Listed in the book and probably 20 minutes from you....I started taking my cars to him in 1975.....
