is the production date on the trim tag? there is a L09 on top of the tag above the trim /paint info. Is that the production date. if so what does it decode to.
the engine pad has V0614CLD think that is June 14th L82 engine, is that correct? what is the V?
L09 is July the 9th for a '73. It represents the date the trim tag was attached to the body, usually the same day or the day before the car was completed on the production line.
My car is L03, but was completed July 5th due to the holiday.
V0614CLD =
V- Flint engine plant
0614- June 14th, the day the engine was built
CLD- L82 engine with a Turbo 400 trans, non-California

That's nice to know - Corvette by the Numbers, 1st Printing shows no "L" for 1973. Their last letter is K for July. Will have to correct that ... Thanks!
...My car is L03, but was completed July 5th due to the holiday...
Typical. Probably half or more of Corvettes were not complete cars on the date the trim tag (with time/build date) was attached to the car. Most reqired another day to day and a half to be completed and driven off the line, depending upon the time of day the car reached that point on the line where the tags were attached.
My '68 has a Saturday build date, but she was probably finished the following Monday. My '80 has a Monday date, but the dealer invoice was prepared on Tuesday.
