This should be a simple question (but important), I am about to charge my battery with the newly purchased battery tender. The instructions ask; is the system a positive/negative ground system? My understanding is the 1970 corvette has a negative ground system (negative cable connected to the chassis. Is my understanding correct that the 1970 has a negative ground system?

Hi Durango, thanks for the quick reply. The battery tender is a Deltran Tender Plus. $37 plus $12 to ship.
Good unit, and you should be very happy with it.
You are correct about the phasing of your car so no worries there. I would suggest, hooking it up and letting it charge at least once a week. That will keep things in the battery agitated enough to guard against the decomp of the plates.
Where is there a good negative ground chassis point close to the battery box to connect the negative lead of the tender?
I would connect the tender directly to the battery itself. I ran hard lines to the side posts on my Optima, so plugging the tender into the hard line is quick and easy.
I wanted the smallest I could find to mount onboard, found it at Sears. It's about the size of deck of cards.
When ask about the plug, I just tell 'em it's a hybrid
