Default Ecklers got me again.

I thought I had learned my lesson on the last order. But I ordered some parts from them on TUESDAY of this week. I am in a one day ground service area from them from virtually any carrier. I called today (FRIDAY) to check the status of my order and the lady said "Oh yeah, we shpped it today". TODAY!!!??? What do you mean today? I ordered this stuff 3 days ago!! Thanks a whole hell of a lot. Now thanks to their sorry shipping dept, I have NOTHING to install this weekend. I was hoping to be able to fire the engine up after a year and a half. And yes - I verified with the guy that took my order that everything I ordered was in stock. How do you explain holding the shipment for three days!? I guess I'll have to hang out with the family this weekend instead.

Yeah I would be very mad also no excuse for that. Almost ordered stuff from them but we have a corvette shop that has great parts selection and price is about the same as in eklers and other catalogs that I have seen. Seems every part I ask them about they know about the part and have it. Well worth the time to drive overthere and I get to look at all the cool corvettes when Im there.

Best Regards try to have good weekend anyway

I envy you guys that are close to the U.S. suppliers!!
I ordered all my stuff from Corvette Central, placed a $3,800. U.S order, paid about $1k in shipping, duties and exchange rate but had it on my doorstep in about a week or so.
Pain in the butt but happy to have the hardware here!, no dorking around required, went with the start to finish program.

Dude, I know the feeling. The last two orders I've had with them have sucked in terms of shipping. I'm usually a three day delivery from them using UPS. For some odd *** reason they have shipped my last two orders using USPS. So instead of this being a three day delivery, It's now turned into 10 plus days - WTF? I'm pretty sure I paid for UPS ground! I emailed them about the last one and told them I was real upset with this and I probably won't order from them again. Some customer service rep sent me an email back and apologized and sent a replacement order out next day air. The messed up thing was that so much time had gone by already that by the time I got the next day order, the previous order showed up a day later! I've probably spent more $'s with Ecklers than I'd like to admit. This kind of thing real makes me mad..........

Default Ecklers parts

I ordered $3000.00 in parts from Ecklers and had them in 7 days, and I live in N.Y. I thought hat was pretty fast.

Anybody know what color a bellhousing is supposed to be? 1972 big block 454 4speed Vette. I am doing a frame off resto and trying to make evrything original looking from factory.

Greg

Default That happens.

That problem is not unique to Ecklers. I've ordered a LOT from Ecklers and usuallly don't have problems, but I've been disappointed a couple of times. I can say the same about Mid-America, Wilcox, Corvette America, and Corvette Central. We can each probably name a distributor we haven't had any problems with too. Without some kind of a "study", these are just anecdotal. Life is full of disappointments. They can teach you patience.

I have had this same kind of issue with MANY supplies,..not just Corvette.

I have learned that paying for 2nd day air shipping only cost a "little" more, and you are guaranteed to have your parts in 2 days.

I now pay extra for 2nd day air, regardless of what I buy. To me,...it's worth the extra little expense.

Funny thing is though, I have a box of parts from Corvette Central sitting on my work bench now. They have been sitting there for over a month,...and I paid for 2nd air when I bought them. I felt I "HAD" to have them here right away,...and now, a month later, they are still in the box.

Nature of the beast I guess.

i had issues with Ecklers last year as well and pretty much stopped using them. I use ZIP products for most vette specific items. They are prompt, and send emails about status, and usually ship everything within 24 hours. The only complaint I have is they seem to charge a flat 10% S&H and I am only 100 miles away so they are charging me too much for shipping. But i guess it's worth it sometimes cause I get my parts quickly!

I just don't get it. Even after having some time to simmer down last night and try to sleep it off, I'm still pissed. Yeah it's true we've all had both good and bad experiences with different vendors, but it seems that nearly everyone has had issues with Ecklers. I really believe at the end of the day that they couldn't care less. They know that they are the biggest supplier and that if you want it - they got it. The old supply and demand thing. I did a quick search for "ecklers" on the forum and wasn't suprised at how many of us have gotten screwed over by them. What's funny is that I've never read a response form them.

Funny i'm the opposite, I always stick with ground shipping because so many times I have paid for the faster delivery and it still shows up late. The delivery people are fast at 'attempting' to drop your package as well, it's like you have to be waiting at the door for them, few quick knocks and their gone.
Last year I heard 3 knocks on my door, I quickly threw a shirt on, ran to the door and he was already back in his truck...I ran down the stairs and out in drive way in my boxers and a shirt trying to flag him down I mean if your not going to leave the package at the door then at least wait 30 seconds for the person to answer the dam door.

I have bought a ton of stuff through ecklers, primarily because of the 1 day ground shipping to me in Florida much like you in Georgia. An ironclad way to get it quickly is specify it as a rush order. This cost you about $4 but it assures same day processing and shipping even if it is ground. Has never failed me. Otherwise, their standard processing is within 24 hours of order time and shipping some time after that. Obviously, sometimes they get to it more quickly, but that is their policy. If you want to eliminate the hassle forever, just spend the $4.

That's good to know. Like I said, I just can't for the life of me figure out why they would wait 3 days before shipping the order. My company ships nationwide and if we get an order by 3:00, it goes out the same day!

You do not want to know how "fast" they are to ship to Sweden

i've bought quite a lot of parts from ecklers...no problem whatsoever, apart when some items were not in stock and i had to wait.

i also reckon that living far away (EU) from the part sources makes you be a bit more 'elastic' toward suppliers.

I have never had that problem. They ship UPS, and they always leave it at my front door,...even if I'm not there. You can contact UPS and specify that ALL orders are to be left, regardless if someone is there.

I have been buying car pasrt from mail order ctalogs for over 20 years, and I have never had a shippment late, when I paid for the 2nd day or 3 day delivery.

Maybe I've just been very lucky.

I've purchased quite a few parts from Ecklers for both my 71 and 06. I have noticed the shipping is a bit long but I've also had that same experience elsewhere. I did have a good experience with Ecklers recently. I had purchased a part that was on backorder. It had taken some time and I was getting annoyed. So I dropped them an email and they helped me with an alternative. I had the part in a few days with no hassles at all.
