This is great, I bought mine in november 06, for more then I should have. I'm 23 and I pay $147.00 /6mo in insurance USAA. Yes I paid for it, my wife got it for me for christmas.
I think we should ask who bought thier cars with thier own money or who had thier parents buy it for them ...
I'm 22, and got the car recently. I've never lied about it, i didnt buy it, but they didnt buy it for me either. Also I never asked for it. It was offered to me. My dad bought it in 1985...never ever drives it, or has driven it regularly for about 10 years. He likes it, but he really has no appreciation for vettes like I do. So he cut me a deal. He said if i finished school in 4 years with a 3.0 or higher...it was mine. No i'm not ashamed I didnt buy it, I'm gonna hit it off now, because I get so tired of people acting like i shouldnt have it. What am I gonna do say "no dad, i dont want you to hand me down the sweetest car ever built?" I just think that if you think money is the determining factor for your love and appreciation of these cars then you need to go get a c6 and a gold bracelet. Sorry for the minor rant but i know that at least somebody if they dont say it will think it. So theres my answer for you.
P.S. Hopefully someday when this college education pays off and i am able, I will return the favor to him with a brand new Zo6 or whatever super vette is out there when i've made my money.
amen brother...that will be me too, i've got about 8k saved up so far even through 4 years of school. And i'm about to start work in Saint Louis in June so my fun can start when i've got more income

That's f'ed up dude. No matter what you may think of the color, that Corvette is definitely not "junk" and you shouldn't be slinging insults like that at someone else's pride and joy. Didn't mommy and daddy teach you any manners?
I bought my Vette right after graduating high school (age 18) and spent a couple of years restoring it. Now I’m 24 going to be 25 on April 8th…oh and I pay for all of my vehicles.
I will have my pics up tomorrow, and I bought mine with my own money. I delivered pizzas and in the summer made about 4000. The other 1300 was supposed to get me a laptop for college, but I can't stand LCD moniters so I put that money towards my vette.
I bought my vette too..(well, paying for it) paid for the $2500 motor in it too......bought my 98 grand prix ......it's paid off...
big whoop if some of the guys here were given the car, freaking awesome, they got a free car! ....That's just how some people are handed life.......Now, if you guys didn't take care of your vette....that'd be a different story! It'd show that you don't appreciate your parents and your car.....
I have a few family memebers that were given thier cars....they seem like they just don't care about the car....their attitude is just kinda like, oh well if I hit this or wreck it or never wash it, the parents will pay to get it fixed or buy me a new one. Now that kind of attitude just pisses me off. People like that never learn to appreciated how lucky they are until they have to buy the car themselves.

u need to back off, "at least he has a vette", wut r u driving, some little honda POS, or a 5 banger volvo?, i garentee the "junk green one" turns more heads than you ever will
