OK.....with the generous help of CA Legal Vette (see 'thank you' post to follow), I've acquired a '69 BB in SF. I happen to live near Boston.
I've been diligently investigating the shipping scenario online, have had friends' suggestions (who own expensive cars and shipped them) and have spoken to several brokers and transport companies.
The whole thing is kinda creepy with brokers- there's not a lot of good said about them, open transports by them, etc. There seeems to be a whole nebulous arena for mishaps there. Conversely, I've read and heard some good things about higher end enclosed shippers like Intercity, which cost a good deal more. I'm not interested in scraping the bottom of the barrel here, but would love to save a little bit off the premium that will probably be required anyway
Anyone wanna chip in? Expeditious replies appreciated..I want to decide by tomorrow.....
thanks, Paul

I had my car FedEx'd from Buffalo to Tampa. For enclosed transport they were actualy the least expensive. (only by a few bucks) Shipping with them includes insurance.

You definately need to go with a "known" company,, under no circumstances should you use a company that brokers their jobs. The extra $$$ involved is worth it for your own peace of mind. I used INTERCITY in 2003 for a move of a non-operational ( no motor/trans/steering/brakes) 1982 from just outside of Dallas Texas (Grapevine actually) to the Catskill Mtns. of New York state, they did the move in 3 and a 1/2 days and chrged just under $1400.00 . With todays fuel prices I betcha it'd be more,, but I was at ease knowing professionals were handling it. You get what you pay for. Good luck,,,Peace,,, Moosie

I FedExed my '69 BB from Fla to NJ. It was quick -- great service, and I could track it, just like a package!! My Vette shared the trailer with a 612 Ferrari, an Aston Martin, and a 12 cylinder Mercedes. Not bad company.
