Default C3 shopping this weekend...

Well, wife and I are headed a long way by plane to see a car... we shall see what happens this time. A couple of crash and burns on buys this winter, maybe this will be it.

More info later if it works out.

More detail about the car. When I went looking for a vette, I broke it up with a little golf. When I made my offer, the owner thought it was to low and said they would get back to me. About the 9 hole I got a call and the car was mine.

What part of the USofA are you headed for?

Can you share any details on the C3 you are going to look at?

Good luck, I hope it works out!

Went to CT, got back very late last night after a series of plane cancellations and delays. No, I don't believe that's ever happened at O'Hare before.

Anyway, after some gyrations, bought the car, a '69 triple black small block roadster. Pretty happy with the way it went, very nice seller. Makes life easier.

Pics and details to follow after it gets shipped out.

Congrats on the new car!!!! Anxiously awaiting pictures!

Funny thing - my wife and I traveled many places and both times I ended up buying my cars off the forum!

I had a deal in place with a forum member that didn't work out. No buys/sells in that arena yet.

Here's one pic... the car needs tons of TLC and the wheels are hideous. It will be a fun project now that the '58 is done for the time being.

While I'll agree the wheels aren't what I would want, I've seen a lot worse. Can't go wrong with a 69 convertible.

When the car gets here I will be holding a spirited bidding war for them. Hopefully I can get enough for a Snickers bar!
(oops, don't want to go to banned camp for improperly offering them for sale.... they would be nice to wrap a garden hose around, though.)

Thanks to everyone. I'll post pics when FedEx drops it off, hopefully in a timely fashion!

We had those same wheels on our 57 Belair when we bought it 20 years ago They must have been popular at some point in time. I can send you ours if my dad hasn't thrown them away!! Maybe a 2 for 1 deal when every you do decide to sell

P.S. Nice looking car!!

Congratulations on your new vette. I would agree with you on the rims. With a new set on the car it should make it look even better than it does now.

Nice find! Now for a stupid question. Where does the triple come from? I understand black interior, black paint. Is it the black top that makes the third black in the triple?

That is correct. I shudder when I hear people describe their black coupes as "triple black" because they think it means, "real, real, real black." Yeek.
