Here's original story when I joined, this time last year (when I knew nothing ).
Found it in an envelope with bunch of reciepts/documents, titled Corvette on outside. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...=restoring+l88
Also, just found bill of sale when my Dad bought it in 74'.
Does that original bill of sale say trailer hitch $18.00
Yes it does!
And believe me I still don't understand that, and to boot, it was a royal PIA to remove and left 4 big 5/8" holes in the rear bumpers, so I ordered 2 new rear bumpers 1st week of December...still on backorder wont see till May
That certainly helps the car for proven options, however, the cars actual vin sequence isn't listed by the salesman, just the vin series which doesn't prove without a shadow of doubt that this dealers sales invoice is for that particular car.
I have the original dealers sales invoice for one of my cars, with the entire vin written in, along with the options & price. I certainly would hold this piece of documentation high as far as proving the cars provenance.

Found this as well, think this holds validity: vin, date, same guy/dealer.
Nice documentation. It's difficult to tell whether this is an order for a new Corvette, or whether the car had already been delivered to the dealership and was being sold to it's first owner. Since there is no complete VIN sequence on it, I'm leaning toward thinking someone was ordering this car.
BEAUTIFUL !!
love to see all that original paperwork. I have same for my '75, now if only it meant something on a 165hp car. Should help your value quite nicely!

What I was thinking, but I never ordered a car...but seems Brad Clark ordered it on Sep 30, 1968.
Vette arrived Feb 26, 1969, and he paid $5303.00 on Feb 28, 1969.
Then my Dad bought it Aug 74. It makes sense, since the build date is Feb 69 (block stamp).
I've been thinking about finding Brad Clark, if he is still alive, and giving him a call when i'm done...see if he would wanna go for a ride.
I'm sure he would be surprised to see it or know it's still around, and looks the same as when he bought it and still with the orginal motor.
Or do you think that would be a little too strange?

Look him up. My buddy bought a '63 Impala back in the late '80s and then spent a fortune restoring it. A couple of years ago he had it in the World of Wheels show here in town when a guy walked up with tears in his eyes. Steve recognized him as the guy he bought it from. He was thrilled to see it in that kind of shape........

Makes sense. Ordered 9/30/68; delivered 2/26/69, before the strike. I've read a couple of articles which said it took four and five months, sometimes longer, to get new '69s delivered.
