I am in the proccess of rebuilding my 71 coupe,Bubba had his way massively with the car before I got it (I swear some people should never be allowed to have a vette), anyhow, if i look into the wiper transmission valley, towards the passenger inside wheelwell I can see my blower motor squirrelcage, also I see what looks to be a vacuum actuator.Am I supposed to see this, shold it be exposed or am I missing a vital piece of 'glass or somethig? if anyones got any pics of it, it would help my sanity. Ill post a pic of what I can see tomorrow!
The vacuum actuator mounted to the right inner fender is for the wiper door. The blower motor should look like this. You shouldn't be able to see the squirrel cage, if so the plastic duct work is broken.
Thanks guys! Leftlane has the exact shot I was talking about, minus the screen.Did you install that or was it already there, I was worrkied about leaves and such falling in there and getting sucked through the vent system!
The screen should be there from factory. Mine has it, but it was smashed, so I spent about an hour cramming my hand down there digging out leaves. Ends up my blower worked all along, it was just clogged up.
mine had the screen on it AND about 5lbs of animal hair, leaves and lizard parts in the ac against the evaporator so I went ahead and pulled it all out and cleaned the evap and replaced the heater core. So one of these days I'll have real ac and heat
