Would it be possible to run the bracing forward over top of the crossmember and then 90 degrees down in the front of the crossmember? That way you would have no clearance loss? Just an off the cuff thought
Keith, will your design work with the extended length that the Tremec TKO transmissions have? Also, I am anxiously waiting for your rear half shaft design. Project RamJet will be needing both
Back in Project Ramjet's previous life with it's hopped up 454, I remember taking it out for an after tune-up test. I just finished wrapping it thru first gear and power shifting to second when I twisted the yoke off the tail shaft. The car lost it's stability and did a complete 360 in the middle of a narrow country road. It took me three months to get the smell out of the interior

It is also my understanding that the automatics are shorter than the manual trans which affects the driveshaft loop placement.
The "other guy" offers two sizes but the longer loop setup for the manual trans is $50 more.
I don't have my muncie in to take measurments.
Can anyone confirm this?
I would imagine you would only have to make one size to fit the furthest from the trans xmember that way it catches the driveshaft no matter what trans.
I don't think your driveshaft loop will work. It is however a pretty peice of art that I could hang on my wall. Send it to me and I'll send you a brand new DragVette safety loop. It's never been installed and will work fine for your application. It's a lot heavier than 4 lbs. so it's gotta be good.
Once again that really is a nice piece. I stumbled upon this today. It seems like it would be easier to make and could be made to be adjustable for different transmissions if instead of welding the bottom plate to the loop assembly, you made it slotted to be able to adjust the loop forward and backwards. What do you think? It may save you some manufacturing time and increase your margins.
