Broken headlight bracket, fix needed ?

Default Broken headlight bracket, fix needed ?
While tearing things apart during the restoration I found that one of the headlight brackets was broken. Drivers side / inside bracket is cracked. What type of metal is this (Pot Metal)? How difficult is it to remove / fix / weld? The book calls for 4.0 hours / major for ea. headlight. How do I go about this? Can just this bracket be removed by itself, or the entire assy?

I had this happen with my passenger's side. Used JB Weld after cleaning the surfaces. Worked great.

It's cast aluminum so it can be TIG repaired.
