I know you can buy flares but can you buy standard wheel arches without buying the entire panel. I dont know if you can see my car in my avatar but it has flares and i want to put it back to original. It still has all the original panels with flares added,so i would like to cut the flares off and attach original arches.
It really depends on how yours was flared. If only the wheel arch was replaced (not the quarter panel), you should be able to find a "piece" to put back in. 68-69 factory panels are difficult to find.
Can't really see much of a flare in your avatar, got any better pix?
The rear wing along with the 2 extra tailight's,flares and extra spoiler's are being removed and everything back to stock.I was going to replace the front fender's,rear quarter's and tailight section with new fiberglass until i managed to find the original owner and he told me that he did the customizing back in 1972 and used all the original panel's and added everything extra on to them.I have removed the Hooker's and replaced them with the factory sidepipes as this was an original sidepipe car.Here are the pic's he has shared with me,they are 35 years old so the quality is not that great;
...can you buy standard wheel arches without buying the entire panel...
Not to my knowledge. Sting Ray drivers used to be able to buy panels which replaced flares with the factory openings, but I've never seen repair panels for C3s.
Got a friend with a stock C3 being rebuilt or a parts car? It wouldn't take much to pull four molds off the stock project car and lay up replacement arches for your car.
With the exception of the rear spoiler, I like the look of the car as is. The only reason to change it back would be if it is a bb with it's original engine. 68-9's are known for stone chips. If you take them off gently, I'd be interested in the flairs, spoiler and wheels.
This is a complete number's matching 427-390hp 4sp Daytona yellow that i am currently restoring. I have already rebuilt the engine,front end and now finishing the rear end.Just the interior and body left to do Doing this from England has been very difficult as everything i need has to be shipped from America. During restoration i managed to find the tank sticker in very good condition and all the history of the car including all owner's.Everything i touched was the first time it had been apart and all matched the car and date of early 69.
