I've noticed on web shot's of some professional built engines (T&L specificly) the lower heater host outlet was plumbed back to the right head & the upper outlet (the one usually plugged) was set up for the heater hose. There wasn't a view of the left side so I don't know what was happening there. Is there a good reason for this?

Maybe to keep the heads cooler? It's a high compression motor right? The cooler the chamber the lower the octane can be before it detonates?

Purely guessing here.

The hottest part of the head is right between those two exhaust ports. The coolant line going to the head between exhaust ports is there to allow cooled water to go there before being heated by the rest of the head.

The two other lines going to the back of the heads on top is to equalize cylinder head temp.
