Default small block

Bat,
Just looked up my Black Book and your block number tells me that it's a small block. Same part # for 195 and 250 h.p. But it's also the same # for 350 block from 1969 to 1980, so may not be original. Only the #s on the front pad can tell us that. Then we'll know if it's a four bolt or not.

Default "...lost numbers....???"

bat,
The fifth digit, "T" indicates the car left the factory with the 250 horse engine, i.e. the L82, but you can't "lose" the numbers on the pad. They are stamped in with a heavy die and the only way to remove them is to surface grind or machine the block. This tells me that your engine has been pulled at some stage for reconditioning and either the same one or another with the same casting number has been put back in.

Without pulling the oil pan and looking for four bolt mains and a forged crank, it's pretty hard to tell you what you've got in there. An L82 should have:-

four bolt block,
forged crank.
aluminum inlet manifold,
aluminum rocker covers,
bigger valves, etc.

Good luck

Default Vin

bat,
Also, there appears to be one number short in your VIN, should be SIX digits after ...37T4S not five. Tell me this and I can tell you in which month (and year) the car was made.

Cheers

On the opposite side from your 0010 no. there will be a date casting no. on the block. Find this and post and someone can tell what year it was made.
