What type of sander should I get - a dual action sander or an orbital sander. What size orbital air sander do you recommend?

Almost all good orbital air powered sanders are dual action (DA). The dual action helps clean the paper.
Most popular discs are 5" or 6", your choice.
The bigger the flatter your work.
A straight line sander is also a must have.

I agree, if you have not used one before. Practice on something else. You can do some awsome damage to glass with it.
