What size power ball does everyone use to polish up your wheels. I see they have two sizes, one the size of a big softball and the other the size of a baseball with an extension for it. I am thinking about the smaller one, but was wondering what everyone else uses.
I just bought the full set of Powerballs from Mothers. I got both the big one, the mini, the polish, two cloths and the Powerball MD with the Metal Doctor polish. The MD is only available direct from Mothers. I am hoping that it will be able to renovate my valve covers. I will probably get around to it in the next week or so.
I used the small one. It fit into the slots well and did a great job on those as well as the rest of the wheels. I used the Adam's #1 and #2 metal polish and about 15 minutes each they looked like chrome.
I bought one of the big ones, and had the thing disintegrate on me the second time I used, trying to polish the wheels on my dad's truck. It caught one of the edges of the spokes on it, and just shredded into pieces before I realized what had happened.
I bought a Flitz Polishing ball at a fair last year, and that thing has been through a HECK of a lot more abuse, polishing the wheels, valve covers, headlamp covers, my friend's diamond plate toolbox in his truck...
If you can find the Flitz ball, get that one instead. It'll hold up better.
