The older GM aluminum intakes were susceptible to corrosion owing to acidic coolant conditions. This is particularly true around the waterneck/t-stat area. They were also frail and subject to cracking around the end bolt-down ears. If you find a good one they can be expensive. Your example looks in pretty fair condition and the price was about right. The example in my pic is a 1966-67 ...490 intake and would fetch about $400.

and the key word is Yenko - if the docs were to fully bare this $500 might be cheap for the right person to complete a full resto.
