I recently order new rubber molding for my 69 t-tops and I compared them to what is currenlty on them. The old ones look to be much better quality although they are old and seem to be a little spongy.
My tops leak...... I have re-glued the existing ones and opted out of installing the new ones. I have not adjusted the presser or anything like that. One t-top is **** eyed a bit.
Any advice? Anybody know where to get the plastic fittings that the t-tip posts and brackets go into?
id try messing arroud with the adjustments on them, maby find some way to bring the teeth up twords the top, so when you put it in it will pull itself down more
You can snug down the old weatherstripping a little, but don't be surprised if you still have leaks. Not sure what type of hardware you're looking for, but all the aftermarket providers carry the stuff.
I'll try to tighen it up and see if it helps. The aftermarket molding just seems cheap.

When I had water coming in, it was along the front above the windshield. If that is where yours is intruding I would check the chrome trim pieces that butt up against the windshield trim; I had quite a gap on mine and the factory seal material was dried/missing. Once I resealed it, no more leak. Of course, that was after I replaced the stupid T-Top seals and still had the leak. A case of not seeing the obvious right in front of me.
A friend told me that a technique to try and locate where the leak is coming from is to start the car, turn on the fan to high, roll up the windows and shut the door. Then from outside use a length of hose, put one end to your ear and trace the other end around all the edges. Supposedly you'll be able to hear air as it escapes when you find a gap in your seals.
you said one was **** eyed a bit...did you address that area?only??
if you have a leak in your t top and you cant find it then you need to remove the trim and either fix the damage or dry,and reseal the trim...and then use a silicone
If you want to locate where the weatherstrip is not a tight fit, take a piece of paper and place it between the t-top and the molding and lock the t-top down.
Then slide the paper all around the the length of the weatherstrip. Any place where the paper slides easily is a good suspect for a leak.
