Rain+vette=?
It was a blast and I was lucky to have a girl who absolutely loved old cars and though the whole experience was super fun. I hope you had a blast man, let us know how things went!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Next day on the side of the road pulled trans and put another one in it.
Wife said I am getting senile, that was our wedding night when the transmission went out.
Cruizer
Three times I can remember faced with driving off to something in the rain.
1. I went to some friends' wedding once, sans date, and it was looking like rain. I took the Corvette anyway. Yes, it rained during the wedding, but it got me worthwhile attention. While at the reception at his parents' house, a few of us were outside talking so I grabbed a chamois and wiped off the water. Looked After dropping off this young lady, I dropped the top on the way home and ran about 120 over Poplar Street bridge back across the Mississippi. A car would have not accomplished any of that.

(with all these Ramblers, you'd think I was in Wisc.)

2. Headed from Illinois to Jonesboro, Ark to visit my sister. Forecast was rain, but I took the '68 anyway. I was very glad I did. I hit about 75 miles of rain on the way down and ran into about 50 miles of rain on the way back, which got me top down. I ran about 40 of that with the top down until I stopped for gas. But I had a blast with it down there, doign things I could have never done in a car. I was very glad I had the Corvette with me, rather than a car.
3. Last space shuttle before Challenger was set to launch, and I decided to run up to see it. Got up at 4, got ready to leave at 4:30 and discovered it raining. I had just washed and waxed the Corvette yesterday, and sure didn't want to get it all wet and dirty so fast. With no break in sight on the rain, I jumped in and blasted up I95 to Cocoa, rain pouring down heavy. By the time I was there, the shuttle launched into a clear dark sky broken by the rising sun and made you just feel great to be alive. I spend quite a bit of the day up there running around, along the beach and all. Taking a car would have ruined the whole day. I'd have never gotten this picture.

Drive the car and save the Corvette for a future generation who may not have a single appreciation for it, or make the day (night) one to remember?
It isn't a hard decision.
Wow I never thought I see a Gremlin again, but 2 parked on the same side of the street? now thats priceless. Take the vette you will be the most popular one at the prom. Heck you may end up going home with 3 wemen once they see the vette.
The other day, I put my wipers on fast and one of them flew off...that was a little scarey.
After we did a bunch of body work, I kept getting little pieces of fiberglass to come through my heating vents. It was crazy.
I swear, when we got there, it seemed like every other car was a Rambler.

or an umbrella for the INSIDE!!!

Thats a good look, very sharp!!! Your GF looks very nice, very pretty!! I hope you had a great time!!! Man, what i would have given to drive a Vette to prom. . .

What is that supposed to mean?
