75 BRAKE PEDAL does not COME BACK UP..help please
Put my foot under the pedal while driving to do a situp to get seatbelt from behind seat.
Now pedal does not return to switch to turn off tail lights
It will come up if you pull it lightly and it hits the switch and turns off taillights
WHAT RETURNS THE PEDAL TO SWITCH????
IS THERE A SPRING OR IS IT BY PRESSURE???
If spring where does it go and where to buy?

In a pinch, you can buy a generic coil spring from most hardware stores. Connect one end to the pedal arm and the free end under the dash. Pedal will return to normal position with the "fix" applied.

On a manual car there is a spring wrapped around the pedal pivot.
On a power car the brake booster does the job.
I would bet you bent up the lightswitch bracket, better getdown and take a look...
