nice,i always wondered how a new gen engine would run with a carb on it,carbs are faster at the track then injection. What you useing for fuel delivery? what compression is it? Bill

Haven't picked out a carb yet, compression is 10.1

Its a mixed bag lol I got a 2002 LS1 engine with a bad block I replaced with a gen IV 5.3 bored out to the LS1 specs and used the internals from the LS1.

So it is now a gen IV iron block LS1

Removed the old 350 a couple of weeks ago, I am now prepping the engine bay, I was looking at all the nice looking engine bays looking for some ideas.

Wow, this is an old thread but the work here is outstanding. Seeing the evolution of the engines is amazing.

My 427 SBC is shown below. It is a work in progress. Tough call to want to work on it or to drive it, wish I had more time.

Nothing fancy, but that's not what I'm going for. I want this thing to look/feel original (can't help the chrome VC's they were on the car when I got it) but I'll replace those with L82 VC's when I get some extra $. It's gone a real far way from when I first got the car

Love the car!!

I am just fitting L88 Hood with Cold Air box in to my 80 and had to shorten the Cold air box by 3.5" to match it with my small block.

Would you be so kind and post few pictures of your hood and the cold air box for inspiration, please?
