It's impressive to see an old vette do that so easily, but I wouldn't beat mine like that. Often enough I chirp the tires from a stop sign or light accidently, and I'll nail it sometimes getting onto the highway for a quick thrill but that's it!
And yeah, I agree, that guy is a bit creepy! Love his car though.
You also notice how close he comes to the camera person? Almost hits the dude!

I'm still trying to figure out when doing donuts became drifting...
Also good to see my car isn't the only one where the right light locks in place last...
I have seen this video before....and still like it a lot. I am almost to the point where I can drive my vette like that. I need to attend a few more auto-x and then I will be ready. I have alredy done 1 auto-x and it was a blast. Very fun indeed and I learned a lot about how my vette handles. Surprised me in some areas....disappointed me in others. Nothing that a few big bucks of more performance stuff from VB&P can't fix.
Someone posted the video sometime last year, I don't remember the whole story behind it, but I believe he is a forum member, right?
I still like that video , looks like a lot of fun; I can't wait to play around with mine in a nice open area like that
Nothing wrong with 'exercising' your vette they can handle it and you can fix it
Don't think I want to trash my vette like that clown.
Actually...there's a mustang and a 69 camaro both sponsored by falken tires, that run on the d1 drift circuit, also a gto, and a few vipers. When i went to the D1 event at soldier field the guy who got 4th place, was driving an el camino...drifting is going to be huge in a few years.

Drifting is car control. It is just that these guys have found a way to make it pay.
I drifted a Chevy van out of the parking lot of Goodyear Aerospace/Loral Defense Systems in Akron one night in about 6 inches of snow, up on the highway, to the southbound ramp and finally straightened it out when I pulled on the interstate heading south to Canton.
This is really what C1 racers did all the time in the '50s and early '60s until they had tires and suspensions that could stick to the ground in road racing. Go look at some old C1 race photos.
