Has anyone here just stripped off the undercoating underneath the car and just painted it with epoxy paint for a clean look? Did it work out good? Are there any scratches on it from road debris? I was thinking about bed liner...but I'd rather be able to just use paint - if it ever gets in an accident, it wont be hard to get at the fiberglass for repairs. post pics.
I'm in the process of doing that now. I have all the undercoating removed and all the underpanels cleaned down to the raw glass. I plan to prime the panels and coat them with semi gloss urethane (slate gray).
I have been warned I should re-apply a small amount of undercoating to the top of the wheel wells. Apperently the top side final paint surface can be damaged (spider) by stones hitting the under side of an unprotected fender.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a few shots of the painted underbody in a few weeks.
I will be removing what little undercoating is on the underbelly(Not much at all on there), and will then properly apply some solid-type Truck Bed Liner(Think Rhino Lining)
The easiest way to remove the old crap is to use a heat gun and a chisel(Be careful, and wear goggles!)

Wheel wells should be the only place there is undercoating.
The belly of the body was bare from the factory ... and mine stayed that way.
No paint ... revel in the exposed pure fiberglass.
Now, I DID paint the metal reinforcements under there to prevent rusting.

It may be bare from the factory but my car was purchased in Miss. and the sales order from the dealer says Undercoating. It had undercoating under the floor pans and everywhere. No rust.
What method did you use to remove the undercoating?
I used TAL-Strip to soften the undercoating, then a plastic knife to strip it off. Once the big stuff was gone, I strayed the panels with Marine Clean and rubbed them with scotch pads. The final step was soap and water to get rid of any chemical residue.
