I like the concept of the removable rear window and it ticks me off that Chevy did away with it in '73... I have never rode in vette that has had it... I would like to hear some opinions about it because that might be one thing I'll do for the summer for my '73...
The removable rear window can be installed in any of teh flat window C3s. I have personally helped a forum member do this, and myself and another will be doing ours this spring.
There is a kit you can buy that has all the latches, plates, window, and seal.
Curt74 will chime in on location and price of that kit.

I love it in my 68 coupe. It feels almost like a convertible with the back window out. Real nice on a warm summer day, especially with the big block heating up the interior
I did my 73 about two years ago. The whole process took less than a day. Got the window from flebay. Got the 2 upper mounting brackets from fleabay also. The holes for the bottom are already in your car under the molding. The mounting pads for the top snap locks are also in your car under the headliner. Remove the old rear window. Put in a new weatherstrip for a 72. You do need to cut out two areas on the upper headliner for the snap locks to work. Pretty easy change. Cost two years ago was about $100 total. I only put the window in to wash the car or when she goes into hibernation. Best mod I have done. Would recommend it to anyone that wants a vert feeling with the tops off. All of the buffiting is gone on the back of my head.
There was an excellent post describing the change-over with great pics just a couple of months ago.
Do a search and it should pop up
It's on my list of to do's
From: Arlington Va Current ride 04 vert, previous vettes: 69 vert, 77 resto mod
i did it on the 77 and its more of a sensory treat then anything else.....it does increase air flow or any thing like that but you definitley have more of a sense of open space

Actually for some reason I didn't see his post... I guess I will have to PM him...
Yeah, those kinds of deals don't come around often, and when they are missed you always end up spending more on either Ebay or buying the kit brand new when used is almost always just as good. Good luck and keep us posted.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
