Default First Show Award

My '72 got it's first award today on only it's second outing.

The show was a local show at Wichita State University and the awards given were for the top 25 cars. There were at least 115 cars there.

I'm so happy!

I see you live in God's country!

I am from Omaha. I haven't lived there since 1984 however.

Back then, I had a '65 roadster with the original 327/350. Wish I had that one back!

Cool....And I see we're about the same age. Do you remember Dewey-Smith Chevrolet? That's where I ordered my Vette from. This was after they had moved out to West Dodge road in mid '75...........

I picked it up on May 6th. Exactly one year to the day after the tornado.....

And I bet you wish you had that '65 small-block back!..

I was in the Navy stationed in VA when that tornado hit. It hit my house. I used to live at 7903 Nina. Right next to I-80. Two of my cousins were in the house at the time. They were fine but pretty darn scared.

Dewey Smith, huh? By the time I moved back to Omaha, I think it was Huber that had moved to West Dodge. Where the Golden Spike used to be. Was that where Dewey Smith was?

BTW, I went to Westside, class of '73. I married a girl who went to Burke, class of '72.

Lol, TimAT, they took the smog pump belt. I'm in no hurry to put those things back on. Too many other functional things to take care of first. Beisdes, I don't need another parasitic drain on the engine.

I can't figure out why you would have won any awards with the piece of junk! Yes, of course I'm jealous and that is a sweet looking car, congrats on the award.

Thank you all for the compliments on the car. I must admit that it is very photogenic but not near as nice looking in person.

Definitely needs paint and a good cleaning in the engine compartment, frame, interior, etc, etc.

But it does have that survivor look to it. lol.

I grew up in Ralston & it hit my house too.... I was working at a film plant at 89th & H so I had a front row seat for watching the Ralston bank explode. After it hit I flew home and found a big hand-made quilt on my bed that wasn't mine!! Damn thing came in a window....

Dewey turned into Huber in '77...

Class of '75 for me.....

And that's one nice '72 big-block................
