This car was reported to be bought by an amateur drag racer from Denver who liked the specs when he read them and could afford the 10K sticker price. Once dialed in, it's said he won often. He replaced the stock exhaust with headers and bolted a Holly 1100 CFM on top. A 5.13:1 rearend and wrinkle-wall slicks got him down the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds at 132 mph.
