Default 40 year wait for first Vette

Hello All,

My name is Mike and I'm a new member of the forum. I just had my first Vette delivered to me last Wednesday from Mississippi. I've wanted a Vette since I was little because my Uncle owned a 60, 64, and a 67 Vette. I remember he would yell at us when we would lean on them, or go near them. I also remember him giving me rides in them....WOW, the power they had, and the little round door handles inside to open the doors. I was hooked, and remember telling a friend I'm going to be just like my Uncle....always stay single (blew that twice) and some day own a Corvette. Well, after looking seriously since last October, I finally found the one I wanted. I've always liked the 78-82 body style the best because of the smooth curves, longer body, and those slot wheels. I found this beauty on e-bay and got it because of somebody backing out on a bid. the reserve hadn't been met, when somebody bid $100. more and the reserve was met. Ten minutes before the bidding ended, he withdrew his bid and the car never sold. I called the seller the next day and told him what I saw...he told me I could have it at the price the reserve was met. I couldn't believe I was finally going to own a Vette after all these years . It's an 81 two tone all original beauty that has only 31K miles. The colors are Biege & Bronze, and still has the original exaust system. The car was kept in a heat, humidity, and hepa filtered garage since 1986 when the owner bought it. This car runs, and sounds fantastic, and I keep pinching myself everytime I drive it down the road. If anybody would like to see this Vette, just go to: www.ntenseclassiccars.com then click on inventory. My Vette is the two tone on the top. Glad to be a part of the elite .

Welcome and congrats from another old guy who got lucky & didn't have to wait... It looks like you found a nice original Vette. Did you pick up that '66 ChevyII in the last pic with it?

That would be a nice combo.............

Great find! Looks like it just came from the showroom! There's nothing like a C3.
Good luck with it.

I'm surprised "Funniest Home Videos" doesn't have a section of movies entitled " older gentleman trying to climb into their Corvettes", I got mine at 50 and it does hurt sometimes trying to get under that non-tilt wheel. Welcome and very nice vette.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome, and the kind words . I do have about a million questions for anybody that has an answer, but I'll save those for another thread. Thanks again .
