Hello,
I dont have a step by step detail on this, but the following photos should help you with getting the window crank and lock off.
kdf
The window and door lock are held in place with a C clip.
You can use the clip removal tool, or bend a screwdriver at the tip to grab the end. You can also use a rag to snag the clip and pull it out. The clip will only go on 1 of 2 ways. There should be 2 grooves in the handle that are perpendicular to the window crank.
Here is a shot of taking off the door lock.
The door handle has a screw at the base. Pull the door handle out enough and you can then see the screw. The handle will then slide off of the bracket.
Buy the AIM. Diagrams in the AIM for everything you want to know. Not a How-To, but an excellent reference.
Buy the tool shown above. Trying to remove the mickeymouse clips any other way will probably ensure you scratch up your trim or, worse, poke a hole in a door panel.
The door is basically held on by a few screws and some old velcroy stuff. Just unscrew all the screws you see, then get the handle, the latch, the lock, and that should do it.
What's the fix for loose interior door pulls on a 71?
The upper part seems to be stripped and doesn't grab anything. What is it supposed to go into on the door, and if it has been stripped what's the cure?
The door pulls get scred into the door frame but inside the door frame is an anchor plate. They shot self drilling screws at the time. I would mig weld up the hole and drill it. tap size 10/28 I believe
I have both, and while they do show how to remove the door panel, they just show the 2 screws holding the inside door pull.
Don't clearly show what they are screwing into, other than the door itself
The screws that I got from Corvette Central for the handle are not wood screws. They are black screws that are threaded for a nut. That confused me even more
