Those sound like some stubborn water spots. What have you tried
so far? You would think most glass cleaners would do the job.

As a last resort, you might try toothpaste. BUT, it is abrasive,
so try a small spot first. Wouldn't want you to wreck the glass!!

Chrome polish and a mini-polisher (attatched to electric drill).

Of course now days they have all kinds of "specialty" cleaners.

But back in the day when I detailed cars of the 70's era...it was just plain ole $1.00 a can chrome polish.

Have you tried white vinegar and newspaper.
My mother used to wash the windows this way in our house and they always came out clean and streak free.
I have heard the vinegar disolves the spots from "hard" water.
I guess the chemicals in the water nowadays leave the spots.

Eastwood sells a "Glass Polish" that will remove water spots, wiper haze and other grime collected through the years. I use it once a year to keep my glass clear & shinny.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how can water spots be removed from the body? I parked next to a lawn sprinkler and now I have water spots all over. Regular washing didn't seem to do as much as I had hoped.

Vette Gator - You'll probably need a good waxing and polishing.
For the glass, vinegar does generally work on hard water stains. Don't use anything like CLR becuase it could drip on the paint.

Rub Lemon oil on the glass, rinse, and dry. Most water spots are removed with this stuff. You can get lemon oil in any sentry store. the wife use it on the shower doors and hard water spots dissappear. Just my .02

You guys be carefully with vinegar. I believe it's an oxidizer and will rust bare metal or any metal where it can get under the paint. I used it to remove water spots on the hood and fenders on my pickup and I had a rusty driveway the next morning. How would you like some of that in your birdcage?

Also, you sure don't want to use any kind of abrasive cleaner on your glass. It may clean the water spots but it will also create micro scratches in the glass that if bad enough would be blinding driving into the sun.

If you're a serious collector car owner you already have a clay bar. Try it. It works.
