water spots
Im trying to get the water spots off of my windows. anyone know how to get these off... I have tried everything so far...little help please.. Thanks again CF
Have you tried white vinegar and newspaper.
My mother used to wash the windows this way in our house and they always came out clean and streak free.
I have heard the vinegar disolves the spots from "hard" water.
I guess the chemicals in the water nowadays leave the spots.

Eastwood sells a "Glass Polish" that will remove water spots, wiper haze and other grime collected through the years. I use it once a year to keep my glass clear & shinny.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how can water spots be removed from the body? I parked next to a lawn sprinkler and now I have water spots all over. Regular washing didn't seem to do as much as I had hoped.

Vette Gator - You'll probably need a good waxing and polishing.
For the glass, vinegar does generally work on hard water stains. Don't use anything like CLR becuase it could drip on the paint.

No i dont think so. Not yet anyway... Ill get some vinegar and now more later today...
MIke thanks for the help.. You seem to know it all... I guess it comes with years of dealing with these cars... Im 44 but new to a vette. I have tinkered my whole life. And now its time to get serious....
Man i love my new 77...Thanks CF family
Rub Lemon oil on the glass, rinse, and dry. Most water spots are removed with this stuff. You can get lemon oil in any sentry store. the wife use it on the shower doors and hard water spots dissappear. Just my .02

well i have used chrome cleaner and wd 40... they are better.. much.. but not perfect.. when i get my next pay check ill try the other ideas.. =)) Just kidding.. Im going to the Safeway later and get vinegar and try that tonight. thanks again everyone.... this all helps for a newbie like me
You guys be carefully with vinegar. I believe it's an oxidizer and will rust bare metal or any metal where it can get under the paint. I used it to remove water spots on the hood and fenders on my pickup and I had a rusty driveway the next morning. How would you like some of that in your birdcage?
Also, you sure don't want to use any kind of abrasive cleaner on your glass. It may clean the water spots but it will also create micro scratches in the glass that if bad enough would be blinding driving into the sun.
If you're a serious collector car owner you already have a clay bar. Try it. It works.

So im just starting my serious car collecting out now with my first car. and now maybe ill have ny first bar... but the chrome polish workied real well. where would a serious car collector buy one of these bars?
