Well the Toyo Proxes 4s shot up about $50 a tire within the last few weeks, so I need to pick a more affordable tire. I'm looking at the Falken GR Beta FK451s (discontinued but still in stock.) They seem to have good reviews and I can probably get them for $107 a piece. Any other suggestions on a low priced tire in this size? I just need something relatively good, but not expensive. I expect to get a couple of years out of these ones, then I can get something more expensive the next time around.
So yhar, suggestions? Discount tire only has 9 of the 451s left in their Arizona warehouse...
Don't nittos have kinda weak sidewalls? I actually lucked out and discount tire was able to get the 451s. They almost tried to sell me on the 452s, but those don't seem to have the performance of the 451s.
I've always thought of nittos as being drag racing tires. I'm going to be autocrossing on these, so drag racing tires aren't exactly my friends.
Ah the NT450s, I was considering those way back. However the Falken 451s are Y speed rated, while the NT450s are W rated. The 451s also seem to be softer and cheaper still. Plus I don't even see anything made by Nitto in 275-40-17...
Oh, the 555s come in that size, still cost as much as the Toyos and don't perform as well...
