Default CT. C3 Cruise

For those who may be interested. A friend of mine is organizing this.

C3 Shark Migration 2007

When: Sunday June 3rd. (Rain Date Sunday June 10th).

What: A convoy, all consisting of C3 “Shark” Corvettes.

Who: Any owner of a C3 (1968 through 1982) Corvette.

Where: Through the less traveled byways of Northwest Connecticut.

Why: To leisurely cruise with other C3 owners and to enjoy driving the scenic country roads that these Corvettes were originally created for. (And, just maybe, turn a few heads.)

How: Plan to meet at Dunkin Donuts in the Tri-Town Plaza in Seymour between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a short meeting will be held to explain the trip and to offer tips about being involved in a caravan. We should depart between 10:15 and 10:30. The intent is to stay off busy roads, highways, and out of cities and large towns. The first leg of the trip should take about 1 ½ hours and will take us past Seymour, Oxford, Southbury, Roxbury, Washington Depot, New Preston, and Warren. For those who whish to stretch or use “facilities”, we will schedule a short (15 to 30 minutes?) rest stop at Lake Waramaug State Park.
The second leg of our journey should take about 30 minutes and will take us back toward New Preston, and Washington, then over to Morris. Here we will break for lunch at Popey’s Ice Cream Shoppe and Restaurant. We will have our own paved parking and Popey’s has both indoor and outdoor eating areas. Lunch will take as long as it takes – remember, we are not in a rush, it is supposed to be an enjoyable day-trip.
After lunch, the third (last) leg of our caravan should take about an hour. It will take us down through Bethlehem, Woodbury, Southbury, Oxford, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Woodbridge, Ansonia, and Derby. We will end at Heavn’ly donut in plenty of time for the Sunday Cruise Night. We should arrive early enough to be able to all get front row parking as a group, wipe the Vettes down, find space for our chairs, maybe offer suggestions for a future “Migration”, etc.

Miscellaneous / optional: The route covers about 90 – 95 miles. Actual TOTAL driving time should be about 3 ½ hours. Bring still or video cameras if you like. No pre-trip commitment is necessary, just show up (on time) if you wish to come along. This “Migration” is not hosted by any club, anyone with a C3 Corvette is welcome but…PLEASE – NO GEARHEAD DRIVING – we will attract enough attention just with our line of Vettes. NO ALCOHOL – I don’t want anyone who has been drinking to be behind my Vette, DO YOU?

Questions / concerns: call Don (203) 888-1787. CYBORG

Directions:
From Route 8 heading South – Take Exit 20. Follow road ½ - ¾ mile. Entrance to lot is in the right.
From Route 8 heading North – Take Exit 19. At traffic light turn left. Go to next traffic light (¼ mile), bear right. Entrance to lot is on the left.

Hope to see you!!!

Wish I could make it... I'll try, but doubtful.
