I took her to the beer store for supplies, she was fine. now with relatives over for a little get together she is dead in the driveway. I won't be able to attend to her till late, what are the first things to look for. 1979 good shape ,garage kept, on a battery tender, battery 3-4 years old, nothing happens when I turn the key, no click, nothing, lites /horn and power windows do not work. battery cables look fine, had a new igniton switch put in a year ago. please point me in the right direction, thanks
Do your headlights/interior lights come on? It sounds like your battery cables are loose or have gotten corroded over the years. It could be bad contacts at the battery (easiest to check) or it could be at the starter.
One other idea, did you remember to put it in PARK? It could be the neutral safety switch, just doing it's job like it should.
cables seem fine and secure, no lights, no horn ,no power windows, no click. just dead. it is in park, no obvious problems. could it be a fuse or ignition switch again?
The headlights are on a seperate circuit from everything else.If you have no power anywhere I would guess it is your battery, battery connections, ground connection to frame or the positive cable connection at the starter solenoid.

Might be a fusible link down near the starter has burnt into. Easily repaired. Seems like there was a thread recently about this very problem. Let me see if I can dig it up and I will put a link in this post to it.
thanks DeeVee eight, Eddie70, and DWncchs, I was able to check your ideas out and it turned out to be the 4 wire connector. I was able to move it around a bit and heard my power antenna going down the rest of the way and knew that was it, jumped in and she fired right up. So she's in the garage and a new connector is in my future. Thanks for all your help. Gary
