what are the best brand shift kits and where can i buy for the best price.also how much money will i spend on paying some1 to rebuild my 76 tranny and install a shift kit?

Transgo for the shift kit, got mine from an Ebay vendor. Out here in S fla its about $800 for the rebuild, $1400 or so for the whole job.
I would highly recommend going back in with a modified 2004R instead of the stock 350 or 400. You get a better gear ratio and overdrive. Needed mods depend on what you have in there now.
I just built my own 2004R and made a new crossmember, got maybe $700or $800 in the whole job.
