Default "Cool Car!"

Today, I drove the '82 to the tire store, to have them check out the suspension next week. I popped the t-tops and was taking back streets, to keep a low profile. I didn't want to attract any LEO's. The hood is off, and the nose and bumper are just screwed on. I don't have any headlights in the car, and it looks kinda rough.

As I was tooling through the neighborhood next to mine, a 13-year-old kid sitting on a tailgate hollers "Cool Car!" at me.

Then, at a stop light, I look over and a van full of teenage girls are crawling all over each other, checking out my car.

What a rush! That made my day.

I expect some attention when I am tooking around in the C5 convertible, but I was suprised to get the attention in my 82. Maybe once it is painted, but now?

I have the rally wheels with beauty rings on the car, and the front bumper is on, but other than that, it still looks a lot like this.

You better get used to it, cause the C3 demands attention!

I still get a kick out of people's reaction when they see me driving down the road.

Uh, if it looked like it did on the trailer, and the hood was missing, maybe they were laughing when they said it?

nice car!

(see, it happened again!)

but seriously, its good lookin!, i get alot of "is that your dads car" and i like it, i take it as a complement

and on a side story, somewhat related, there was a car show in Joplin and i took a friend of mine in the vette, and i was looking for a place to park, when a lady waved my down and said "i know your not "in" the car show, but park over here with all the other vettes" so i did, also there were 6-7 ricers all tricked out, guess how many people were looking at them, thats right NONE, every one was looking at the vettes, camaro's, (old) mustangs etc etc

Here is a shot of it on Saturday. I shot a couple screws into the front bumper and got rid of the bungee cords. I needed a little help.

What most people don't understand, is that kids look at things differently than us. A little paint issue is no big deal to them. That is why children don't judge at NCRS events .

The gold one is my friend Terry's car. He has been struggling with painting it blue, but has decided to go back original, so you all can just put down your spears and torches.

I used self-tapping zinc-plated 1" long #10 screws with a 5/16 hex-head tip and my DeWalt 14.4 cordless variable speed clutch drill.

Only the best for me.

I think I will add a red bubble light and "Hazzard County Chase Vehicle" in gold lettering on the doors.

I could run around screaming "Citizen's Arrest!...Citizen's Arrest!" at people

Default the gold one

Is terry going to repaint the bumpers only? My paint is good except for the faded bumpers, was wondering if I should repaint the bumpers only on the car...
