Oxygen Sensor Replacement
I was wondering if I should replace mine. I just a 82 CE with 43K miles it runs great but I was going to change all engine parts, fuel filter, distributor cap/rotor, spark plugs, wires, pcv value, trans filter.... should I also replace the O2 sensor? I have done it before on other cars (92 capri) and actually failed inspections because it was too new. And my 92 Celica didn't feel right afterwards.

I think the O2 sensor on '82s is like one wire or something rather simple, since it is 26 years old now. I doubt they're very expensive so I'd replace it and see if it makes much difference. If it's better, cool, if not just put the old one back in. They're pretty easy to change, if they're anything like the O2 sensor the '81s used.

Do the tunne up stuff. As for the rest if it ain't broke don't bother. if you choose to do it anyway...hang onto the original O2...the old one is sometimes better then the cheepo new ones.
